About Me

I am 67 years old (in 2024) and have been married for 38 years with 2 adult sons.

I was privately educated up to the age of 13, at a grammar school to 16 and Technical College to 19. I left school having failed my ‘A’ levels twice

I did not feel I fitted in with my birth family, at school, at work or with “friends”

I have been seeking help for mental health issues since my mid to late ‘teens and have been medicated for most of my adult life.

I have been to group therapy sessions and visited GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, hypnotists and mental health nurses, the vast majority of whom have added to my problems rather than alleviate them.  I have had suicidal ideation most of my life and have attempted suicide, not because I wanted to die but because living was too painful. I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, a form of autism and extreme intelligence.  I have subsequently been found not to be autistic. I have suffered from intellectual, emotional and psychological abuse since the day I was born up to the present day. I currently do not take any medication and do not have suicidal ideation. The place I feel the safest is my home

My career history includes Reinsurance Broker, Farming, Agronomist, General Manager of a YTS Managing Agency and Driver Training School, Recruitment Consultant, Sales of Pig & Poultry Feeding & Drinking Equipment, Sales of Pre-stressed Concrete Wall Panels, sales of  Modular Household Waste Recycling Centres, and an Artisan Food Business. I have also worked in an abattoir, a vegetable processing plant and sold fats to the bakery trade.  I have volunteered at a hospice, the Citizen Advice Bureau and Oxfam. All my employment was driven by getting away from something rather than going to something.  I have had periods of unemployment, the longest being 5 years and 1 month.

Clearly the common factor in all my problems was me.  I used to think there was something wrong with me, now I know there is something different about me.  That difference has not been and is still not understood, accepted or valued by the wider world, including by “experts”.  It is for that reason I have experienced intellectual, emotional and psychological abuse and is why I have set up this consultancy.

My difference is all about how my brain is wired. What I call brain type.  I am obscurely neurodivergent which is best demonstrated on the following graph, which shows my position relative to others.
